Starting on my anti-racist homework

2 min readJun 5, 2020

I saw this picture and thought, YES — ok, let’s do this! But I couldn’t find much going on in 2020.. AAPI4BLM campaigns / groups like Letters for Black Lives went quiet years ago, and some are starting back up.

My Anti-Racist Homework This Week

I downloaded Ibram X. Kendi’s best-selling book “How To Be An Anti-Racist” on Libro.fm so I can listen to the author read aloud. If you can find your library card, Libby may carry it — or look into supporting an indie online bookstore (Bookshop over Amazon) or black-owned bookstore. You can also listen to Brene Brown‘s podcast episode with the author.

We are seeing “white silence is violence” more than ever. While I’m not white, I’ve been hearing about a desire for AAPIs to speak up for Black Lives Matter. So I’m just getting started. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
